A medieval barley malting oven dating back to the 13th Century has been discovered by archaeologists excavating a site where an office block is to be built in Northampton.

The dig in Bridge street is the first large-scale excavation in the town for 30 years.

The kiln is almost perfectly…

Right around the corner!

Welcome to Mount Holyoke, new students! We’ve been getting excited for your arrival here at the Archives and Special Collections, so we decided to put together a few posts about the history of dorms here at MHC.

Featured in the first five photos are 1837 Hall, while the lower three depict scenes from student life in Prospect. Parties held in these dorms bordering Lower Lake used to be called ‘swamp parties’ - are any of you hoping fervently to be assigned to 1837 or Prospect Halls?
